Bansko ski resort has a great number of varied runs to choose from. There are 17 runs in total stretching over 70kms, as well as a snowpark and cross country track.  More than 50% of the slopes are covered by snow cannons.  The season opens in mid December and closes at the end of April.

The resort itself is mainly accessed via a 15minute, 12km Gondola ride.  Although you can access the resort by road it can be difficult in snowy conditions and parking is limited.  The Gondola starts from the Gondola station in the north of Bansko next to the ticket office where ski passes can be purchased.  The ski passes come in credit card form and have built in chips to give you quick access to the ski lifts when you’re on the mountain.  The chip can be easily read through your pockets.

food and drink

On the mountain there are plenty of places to eat and drink from indoor sit down restaurants, outdoor seated snack cafes and open air bars.  The cafes offer food such as burgers, kebabs, soup, pizza and cooked breakfasts.  The restaurants offer grilled chicken and pork with sauces.

at the end of the day

The No9 run travels all the way into town and finishes up at the Gondola station.  It can be tough for beginners as it does get pretty flat towards the end but it’s a very popular alternative to the Gondola at the end of the day.  This run forms part of the floodlit nightskiing route from the Banderishka station.
